Christmas Celebrations 2023

What a busy Christmas period we have had in school! It all started with our fabulous Carol Service @ The Church of Ireland, Belleek. Every pupil participated with wonderful enthusiasm sharing bible scriptures and beautiful singing. We were all so proud of our pupils, what a talented bunch!

Following this, we had a visit from the Garrison Community Group. Santa, Mrs Claus and the Head Elf certainly arrived in style in their convertible car! They were so friendly and full of festive cheer. Our boys and girls welcomed them by singing a variety of Christmas songs. Thank you so much for the lovely gift for all of our children.

A huge thank you to the Centra shop in Belleek for providing each pupil with a yummy selection box. This was very generous!

Our School Council planned some excellent Christmas events which included a weekly tuck shop, ‘Make a Santa’ day and a construction day. The children’s creations were absolutely fantastic and so original!

We have really celebrated in style! Now, it’s time for me to wish all of our amazing pupils, staff and families a very Happy and Healthy Christmas. Best wished for 2024!

Kind Regards,

Mrs Young

September Awards

All of our wonderful boys and girls have made such an impressive start back to a brand new academic year. We are so proud of you all and particularly our new Primary One pupils.

However, we have two pupils awarded Pupil of the Month for September. Both pupils have been going that extra mile throughout the entire month. Well done to Noah in P3 who has settled in so well to school life here at Belleek Primary School. Noah recently joined our school family in September. He has been working so hard and always shows amazing manners to everyone he meets.

Also, a big well done to Leah in P6 for being an all-round superstar in school! Leah has been working hard in every subject as well asdisplaying such a caring attitude to our younger pupils.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Class of 2023 and Prizegiving Assembly

Where do we even begin to say all of the wonderful things about our Primary 7 children? They are creative, talented, enthusiastic, caring, nurturing, ICT whiz kids, hard working and so charismatic! We have 8 fabulous children beginning this exciting new chapter in their lives and we wish them all the very best of luck. They will be amazing and your new schools are the extremely lucky ones to be gaining such talented children. We started our day on Wednesday with a leaver’s breakfast which allowed our Primary 7 children to have some quiet time with their families before blowing us away with an amazing assembly! There was a Reunion Party, trailers for their new movies (all created by themselves) baby photos and even a performance from our super school choir. A huge thank you to Mr Beattie and Mrs Doogan for their preparation of the assembly. Thank you to Mrs Ovens, Mrs Duffy and Mrs Doogan for the delicious breakfast and thank you to Mrs Gormley for the lovely tea after the assembly.

This was followed by our prizegiving event. Thank you to Mrs Lappin, our previous principal for coming along and presenting the shields and cups this year.

Finally, well done to our ever wonderful pupils, you have worked so hard all year round and make us super proud each and every day! We hope you all have a very happy and healthy summer!

Summer Fete 2023

What a wonderful evening we had on 15th June 2023 for our annual Summer Fete. A huge thank you to all of our fantastic parents and grandparents for their contributions to our Bake Sale, what talented bakers we have around Fermanagh! As you can see from the photograph, the items didn’t hang around for long as this table was ‘jam packed’ at the start of our event!

Also, thank you to Erne Highland Dancers for their fantastic performance, Rev Rebecca for her fabulous Face Painting, JB Marquee and Bouncy Castle Hire for the marquee and bouncy castles, Happy Cones for some lovely ice creams and our scrumptious BBQ.

Well done to Mr Beattie’s class for the organisation of their super stalls and thank you to our terrific staff for all of their hard work at each stall as well. Finally, thanks so much to our great families for coming along and supporting this event. It was a brilliant evening!

Sports Day 2023

The glorious weather, the variety of races and the excellent teamwork were just three of the fantatsic things about our Sports Day this year. All of our boys and girls gave each race 100% effort and our spectators were so supportive.

Well done everyone!

Marble Arch Caves 2023

The boys and girls had a fabulous time at the Marble Arch Caves on Wednesday 7th June 2023. Our tour guides were fantastic and their knowledge was excellent. Thank you so much for such a worthwhile experience for our pupils. Enjoy the photos to see a snapshot of a wonderful day!

World Book Day 2023

Something very magical can happen when you read a good book.’ ~ JK Rowling

On Thursday 2nd March 2023 we celebrated our love for books. Our pupils came to school in fancy dress and enjoyed various book themed activities. If you spotted a ‘Gangsta Granny’ or a ‘Cat in a Hat’ around Belleek, don’t worry, it was only Mrs Young and Mrs Pattison in fancy dress!

It was absolutely wonderful to see our older children read to our younger children. What a caring and talented bunch of pupils we have! We are very fortunate to have recently updated our library and instead of recycling the older books, each pupil got to choose two books each to take home.

To top the day off, we had a Pupil of the Month and P3 Achievements Assembly. Thank you P3 for sharing your proud stories and well done to Blake and Tom our Pupil of the Month winners. We also celebrated our Stars of the Week; David Arthur and Mya. Keep up the terrific work everyone!

January Achievements

It was P4 pupils’ turn to celebrate their achievements. They brought in something from home that they are proud of. Declan was our chosen staff member for this month. He showed us a few pictures of his children’s achievements. Both of his children are past pupils of Belleek Primary School and are now excelling at secondary school both academically and on the Sports Field. We are so proud of you all!

Well done to our two January Pupil of The month winners: Carly and Hollie. Keep up the hard working and helpful attitudes girls!

Happy Heart Day 2023

For the second year in a row, we celebrated ‘Happy Heart Day’ in school. We came to school wearing either red, pink or purple and focused on our hearts throughout the day. We studied what our heart looks like inside our body, which foods we should eat to keep our hearts healthy and also what impact exercise has on our hearts. Our Key Stage One class explored mindfulness, exercise, healthy foods and valentine’s arts and crafts. Our Key Stage two class looked closely at the make up of our hearts, exercise (heart rate) healthy foods and heart themed art. Mr Beattie modelled CPR and the pupils all used ‘Little Anne’ to practise administrating CPR, such a worthwhile lesson! Well done boys and girls, it was an excellent day!

Percy the Penguin and Podcasts!

What a busy time we have had in school during January and February. The P1,2 and 3 class have been learning all about Penguins. They have been learning all about Antarctica, penguins and other animals found in cold lands. To make their studies even more exciting, the boys and girls receieved a special delivery in the post, all the way from the South Pole. Inside the parcel was a lovely little penguin called Percy. The boys and girls have made an excellent job so far taking care of Percy! He has been visiting all of our P1, 2 and 3 pupils in their homes and keeping a diary of their adventures.

Meanwhile in Mr Beattie’s class the pupils have been making their very own podcasts. They have been exploring various apps to compose their own podcast ‘jingle’ and have been interviewing each other to review various films from Film Club.
